As of the 1st of May the English language and e-learning departments of Smart Business Communications have joined the ICB group. Smart has 15 years experience in the development and delivery of Business English training predominantly for the banking and financial sectors in Paris with a team of highly experienced trainers, administrators and IT specialists.
ICB and ICB Europe director Eric Wrobley has been selected to be a member of the French committee to participate in the creation of a new international ISO standard specific to language schools. A first ISO technical workgroup session will take place on the 20th of May in Beijing.
ICB Europe is 10 years old! December 2009 marks our 10th anniversary of quality English language training. These first 10 years have been a constant effort to be or become a good language school. The goal of the future is to become excellent.
The ICB group participates in the U.N. « Global Compact » project in order to establish a framework of good practice to promote human rights, work ethics and respect for the environment at an international level.
ICB respects the Work Code at every level and is particularly attentive to Articles L 123-1 to 123-7 concerning equality for women, Articles L 140-2 to 140-6 concerning equal pay, the Professional Training Federation’s Agreement, and the contracts signed with employees.
We regularly organise staff representative elections.
We have a paper, plastic bottle and ink cartridge recycling program as well as an energy-saving effort.
As a member of the FFP, the ICB group is committed, alongside the other members, to promote an ethical approach to our profession.
ICB is a member of the ISO French technical committee 232 working towards the creation of a new international ISO standard specific to language schools.
Each year the group offers a summer work experience opportunity to a student who wins a competition at the Pembroke Hill High School in Kansas City, U.S.

The CIST in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, trains future I.T. technicians in the context of an economy in cruel need of qualified workers. The ICB group shares its pedagogical knowledge with the school’s pedagogical team and offers free English training to the future trainers of the CIST. (click to view photos and a complete report) Through the donation of course books, the ICB group is contributing to the establishment of an English resources library for the school intended for underprivileged young people.
